7-Eleven Japan has begun construction on a new, environmentally friendly wooden store in Fukuoka City. This next-generation store, set to open in late August 2024, will utilize locally sourced wood from Fukuoka and other domestic wood. The store will be equipped with energy-saving, energy-generating, and energy-storing equipment. Celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2023, 7-Eleven Japan is committed to four key visions: “Health,” “Community,” “Environment,” and “Human Resources.” This project, in collaboration with Fukuoka City’s “Fukuoka Green NEXT” initiative, aims to promote local wood use, resource recycling, and forest regeneration (CO2 absorption).<\/span><\/p>\n

The store’s structure and interior\/exterior will predominantly use wood from Fukuoka City. Additionally, the store will feature solar panels on the roof and carports, energy-efficient in-store equipment, and new battery storage systems. This aligns with 7-Eleven Japan’s commitment to the sustainable use of resources and reducing environmental impact.
