The 122,000-square-meter site near the Maebaru Interchange will feature six buildings with a total capacity of 300 megawatts. Construction begins in 2025, with phased operations starting in 2029 and full completion by 2034.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This is APL\u2019s second major project in Fukuoka, following a smaller center in Kitakyushu. The company aims to position Fukuoka as Japan&#8217;s third data hub after Tokyo and Osaka. Governor Seitaro Hattori praised the initiative, citing the importance of data infrastructure for AI development.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">While demand for regional data centers grows, challenges include securing electricity as Kyushu faces increasing energy needs due to semiconductor industry expansion.
