As of the end of 2024, there were approximately 980 gang members and affiliates, a decrease of 100 from the previous year and the 11th consecutive annual decline.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The largest group, the Kudo-kai in Kitakyushu, saw its membership drop by 80% compared to its 2008 peak. The police cite factors such as waning loyalty among senior members, financial difficulties, and dissatisfaction with organizations.
