A job fair aimed at increasing understanding and opportunities for people with disabilities was held in Fukuoka City. Organized by the city and local Rotary Clubs, the event attracted around 400 participants, including job seekers and their families.<\/span><\/p>\n

At the venue in Tenjin, 27 booths were set up by companies from various industries, including real estate and cleaning services. Attendees received explanations about job roles, with some employers emphasizing the value of careful, meticulous work.<\/span><\/p>\n

Although Japan\u2019s legally mandated employment rate for people with disabilities was raised to 2.5% in April 2023, only 47.5% of businesses in Fukuoka Prefecture had met this requirement as of June. Expanding employment and ensuring workplace retention remain key challenges.<\/span><\/p>\n

A 30-year-old woman with autism spectrum disorder attending the fair expressed gratitude for the support, saying she hoped to find a job that utilized her skills in detailed tasks.
