Operated twice weekly on Wednesdays and Saturdays by low-cost carrier Tigerair Taiwan, the flights will run through October. The 180-seat aircraft allocates around 50 seats for Japanese travelers. Local officials welcomed the first arriving flight with a ceremony and mascots. The governor of Oita expressed hopes for deepened tourism and economic ties.
