The first phase involves a \u00a59 billion investment to construct four residential buildings by FY2028 on a 0.6-hectare site near the station. JR Kyushu will build one “MJR” condominium and one “RJR” rental apartment. Takamatsu Sangyo will develop a 40-unit rental apartment with shared office space, while Toho Housing will build a 50-unit condominium with a hotel.<br \/>\nThe city will also develop a bus terminal and event plaza on an adjacent 0.8-hectare plot. Orio Station, a hub for three JR lines with 28,000 daily passengers, is close to several universities and the Kyushu Science and Research City, part of Kitakyushu’s semiconductor industry development zone.
