The budget for the initiative has been increased by 60% to \u00a520 million for fiscal 2025, and applications opened on May 12. In response to a fatal stabbing incident involving two junior high students at a fast-food restaurant last December, the city has accelerated security measures, including camera installations near major stations and public schools. This year, eligibility for the subsidy has been extended to school corporations operating elementary, junior high, and high schools within the city. Neighborhood associations can receive up to three-quarters of installation costs.
