Traditional benches in the city have featured individual seat dividers, but the new models offer wider, flatter surfaces suitable for parents with children or those needing to lie down temporarily.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Examples include a four-meter bench in Jonan Ward with a single central armrest and open sides, and other benches with handrails instead of fixed seat dividers to assist sitting and standing. Previously common one-meter-square benches divided into four seats now come undivided.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to city officials, the change was driven by community feedback seeking more family-friendly and inclusive park amenities.
