Sarakura slide, which has been closed due to multiple injuries, will reopen on July 19 for children aged 6 to 12 only. Installed near the scenic summit in April, the slide was shut down last month after ten injury reports, including broken bones—mostly from adult users. The city determined that adult use increases the risk due to higher sliding speeds. In response to public demand, especially from parents of young children, the city will implement new safety measures, including instructional signage and on-site support staff. Use of the slide will remain prohibited from 6 p.m. to 10 a.m., and adult use remains under review with no commitment to a full reopening. Source: NHK

<img data-recalc-dims="1" loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-172131" src="https://i0.wp.com/www.fukuoka-now.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/fnn_sarakura-slide_2025_cl.jpg?resize=1400%2C1008&ssl=1" alt="Mt.
