The base fare will rise from \u00a5170 to \u00a5180, with larger increases on longer routes\u2014for example, \u00a5240 to Ohashi (+\u00a520), \u00a5720 to Kurume (+\u00a580), and \u00a51,140 to Omuta (+\u00a590). Commuter passes will rise by an average of 15.6%, and student passes by 9%. President Hayashida cited population decline, rising costs from inflation, safety investments, and labor expenses as reasons.
