The 200-meter, 32,400-ton vessel, with all-suite cabins, is on a 16-day voyage visiting Japan, Korea, and Taiwan. About 420 passengers from the U.S., U.K., and other countries toured local attractions such as Kokura Castle. City officials hosted a welcome ceremony and expressed hopes that the visit will boost tourism from Western markets, which have lagged behind Asia.
