Built around 1971, the wooden tea house features two rooms of different sizes designed in a traditional style, while the roofed waiting bench uses log pillars in a sukiya design. The path between them includes a garden created by noted Showa-era landscape artist Mirei Shigemori, and officials said the harmony between the structures and garden contributed to the selection.
