The suspects, an American company executive using the name \u201cRayne Sho\u201d and a Japanese associate, reportedly promoted an \u201cEnergy Save\u201d device as a way to cut electricity costs and attached it to two meters between October 2023 and October 2024. A related power company discovered the unauthorized components and notified authorities. Police are investigating the involvement of additional accomplices and believe similar installations occurred in other regions.
