Sixteen members of the JA Fukuoka City Broccoli Producers Group gathered at the Sawara Green Center for the monthly session. Producers reviewed examples of \u201cA-grade\u201d broccoli, defined by tightly packed, dome-shaped buds, while misshapen produce was classified as lower grade. Farmers reported that dry conditions and prolonged summer heat affected plant growth, limiting supply this season. While Fukuoka\u2019s broccoli is valued for freshness due to its proximity to urban markets, reduced output has contributed to higher prices.
