The number of companies with annual sales exceeding \u00a510 billion increased 2.4% year on year to 821, while total combined sales rose 5.1% to \u00a534.0477 trillion. Both figures increased for the fourth consecutive year. By industry, the number of qualifying companies grew in four sectors: construction; services and transportation; retail; and wholesale. In terms of total sales, the construction sector posted the highest growth rate at 15.4%, driven by defense-related demand, semiconductor-related investment, and redevelopment projects.
