Through its subsidiary Qden International, the utility invested in two battery storage projects in Texas developed by Spearmint Energy, with a combined output of 200 megawatts and capacity of 400 megawatt-hours. Operations are expected to begin within the month, marking Kyushu Electric\u2019s first involvement in US battery storage. The company also acquired a solar power project in Pennsylvania developed by a Mitsubishi Heavy Industries affiliate, investing jointly with Tokyo Century.
