The toll for standard passenger vehicles will increase from the current \u00a5160 to \u00a5230 on June 1, with a further hike planned to \u00a5300 around 2030. The company cited rising costs related to the renewal of aging structures and facilities, as well as higher material and labor expenses. The Kanmon Tunnel opened in 1958 and is approaching 70 years of service. NEXCO West Japan also said it plans to introduce electronic toll collection systems as part of ongoing upgrades.
