First launched in 2025, the initiative gives children hands-on opportunities to explore possible future careers through activities hosted by local companies and organizations. Participants can try jobs such as professional soccer player and police officer, while new additions this year include soap-making workshops at Shabondama Soap and narcotics detection dog demonstrations at Moji Customs. The program will grow from 11 participating groups and 163 places last year to 25 organizations with capacity for around 300 children. Mayor Kazuhisa Takeuchi said the project aims to help children understand the work and ideas behind different professions. Applications are free and will be accepted through the city website from June 1 to 14. Source: KBC News / Kitakyushu City

Photo: Kitakyushu City

Stay informed with the latest Fukuoka & Kyushu news and events in English.
