The initiative started about three weeks earlier than usual due to persistent high temperatures. Participating locations include community centers, pharmacies, convenience stores, commercial facilities, and public institutions. At the Fukuoka City Science Museum, designated rest areas with seating and drinking water refill stations were made available to visitors. City officials said the program encourages residents and visitors to take breaks indoors while traveling or spending time outside. The cooling spots will remain open through the end of September as part of the city’s seasonal heatstroke prevention efforts. Source: KBC News / Fukuoka City

Digital Map of Locations

Photo: Cool Share Fukuoka

Stay informed with the latest Fukuoka & Kyushu news and events in English.
