The list included names, addresses, and post-retirement employers and had reportedly been supplied annually for at least the past four years at the request of the assembly secretariat. Officials said the information was used to coordinate schedules and activities related to assembly requests and maintained that the disclosure complied with Japan\u2019s personal information protection law because it was carried out for official purposes. Governor Seitaro Hattori said the data must be managed strictly and warned that future disclosures could be suspended if used beyond its intended purpose.
