Taiwan-based semiconductor design company Advanced Chiplets Technology Ltd has established a research and development base at the Kitakyushu Science and Research Park, becoming the first Taiwanese semiconductor-related firm to locate there. The company plans to conduct research on chiplet design, a technology that combines multiple semiconductor chips to improve performance, and expects to expand its local team over the next one to two years. The city also launched a public-private-academic strategy council that includes representatives from Yaskawa Electric, the Kyushu Institute of Technology, and other organizations.
