The company previously assembled EVs and hybrid vehicles on separate production lines but has reconfigured the facility to build both powertrains on the same line. The change comes as global demand for electric vehicles has slowed compared with earlier expectations, prompting automakers to increase manufacturing flexibility. The upgraded production line was unveiled to reporters on June 24 following the domestic launch of the latest Lexus model this month.
