Speaking after reports that the ruling Liberal Democratic Party aims to pass the bill during the current Diet session, Takashima said the proposal remains at the institutional design stage. He said Fukuoka favors a partnership that reflects local circumstances rather than transferring all authority over regional growth strategy to Fukuoka Prefecture. Takashima added that he and Governor Seitaro Hattori had agreed to continue lobbying the national government together.
