Discussions on the Guidelines began in 2013, and meetings were held in France, Columbia and Fukuoka (in Nov. 2014) before they were finalized. The Guidelines showcase a wide range of good practices for community development and urban planning, including initiatives undertaken by Fukuoka City to create a compact, liveable city.
