Looking the breakdown in visitors by country and region, Koreans increased 42.6% year-on-year to 786,600, Taiwanese rose 26.2% to 184,655, Chinese were up 60.2% to 131,208 and Hong Kongese jumped 80.4% to 88,195. In addition to the weak yen, an increase in cruise ship ports of call and international air routes has seen visitors flock to Kyushu at a pace outstripping the national average.
