Looking at Kyushu, in Nagasaki Prefecture, a fishing boat was overturned by a tornado off the coast of Tsushima Island. Tornadoes are most prevalent in September, which is also a highly typhoon-prone month in Japan. Northern Kyushu is especially prone to tornadoes due to the mixing of humid summer air with cool autumn air caused by a seasonal rain front.
