The renovation plan calls for the construction of a two-story building that will house a cafe and restaurant as well as staircase-style benches on the roof. Construction will begin this October, with completion expected next June. After a public bid, a partnership led by Nishitetsu was selected to conduct renovations and handle park management duties. Construction will cost \u00a5416 million. Suijo Park opened in 1924 as Fukuoka\u2019s first municipal park. The City decided to renovate the park since visitor numbers have plummeted in recent years, despite its prime location along Meiji-dori.
