Lifetime Daimyo resident Hiroo Sata (age: 84) talked about his experience on a bucket brigade. \u201cBuckets of water evaporated immediately,\u201d he recalled. Yusuke Kumamoto (age: 78) said he remembers seeing dead bodies all over the city once the fires subsided two days after the bombing. Eighty-six year old Teruko Ito was running down a narrow path when a bomb struck nearby. \u201cI would\u2019ve died if an older girl hadn\u2019t thrown sand on me to put out the flames.\u201d Coinciding with the 70th anniversary of the bombing on June 19, Futaba organized the class so that students could learn about the tragic event, which struck Daimyo particularly hard, before moving back to the new school building scheduled for completion next April in Goshogadani, Chuo Ward.
