Well, that\u2019s because on Sat., June 6 the 7th annual AKB general election will take place inside Yahuoku! Dome. When this was announced back on March 16 most of the city\u2019s hotels quickly filled up with reservations. As a result, some attendees are reportedly staying in hotels as far away as Kumamoto! The purpose of the election is to rank the members popularity. The top 80 will be considered as the qualifiers to take part in the 41st AKB48 single CD and only the top 16 will be considered the all star team of AKB48.
