The bus is expected to increase tourism to the idyllic but previously difficult to reach island, as well as making travel easier for local residents. The 54-seater \u201cGreen\u201d bus was revamped for its new route by Mr. Eiji Mitooka, an industrial designer, and features an elegant wood interior, complimented by the green and white pattern on the exterior. During the journey, passengers will be treated to Shikanoshima Bon-odori music, and tourist information will help them maximise their experience of the island. The bus connects to the JR Kyushu line at Saitozaki Station, and a new schedule in May will make it easier to take an impromptu trip to Shikanoshima.
