Under this public-private initiative, companies receive the right to advertise on city-owned streetlight poles in exchange for fees that go to maintaining the lights. There are now more than 80 poles covered by the program. Every year the City spends roughly \u00a5600 million on electricity and maintenance for its 36,000 streetlights, or about \u00a517,000 per pole. Streetlight Partner companies agree to pay \u00a520,000 per year for three years. The City hopes to recruit even more partners going forward.
