Looking at the seven prefectures, Fukuoka suffered the most losses (\u00a5965 million) followed by Oita (\u00a5534 million) and Nagasaki (\u00a5462 million). Most fraud schemes target the elderly, and there was even one case where one person was bilked of \u00a5100 million. In Kagoshima, a full 82% of victims were elderly. A large percentage of victims are female (e.g., 60% in Oita and 74% in Saga). \u2018Special fraud\u2019 is the National Police Agency\u2019s blanket term for several types of fraud, including ore-ore sagi (\u2018it\u2019s me, it\u2019s me\u2019 fraud) and furikome sagi (\u2018wire me money\u2019 fraud).
