For the first time in more than a decade, a comprehensive bilingual guide to Fukuoka\u2019s flourishing art scene has been released as a printed booklet. The \u201cKyushu-Okinawa Artist File\u201d is a who\u2019s who – an English\/Japanese survey of the regions\u2019 contemporary artists, art spaces and projects. The book introduces 58 artists – their work, concepts and views along with 125 contemporary art spaces and projects. Its Chief Editor, Kinoshita Takako, says the project aims to snapshot the art community as it is now. Takako hopes the publication will one day act as an archive of area\u2019s arts community. The \u201cKOA\u201d, which will be launched September 1 (\u00a51,300), also includes an Autumn calendar of key local art events.
