Ohga Pharmacy has signed a franchise agreement with Family Mart, and the new store is a remodeled version of an existing shop. In addition to standard convenience store products, the new joint shop will have a rotating staff of six registered vendors in order to provide general purpose medicines on a 24-hour basis. It will also have a counter where customers can fill prescriptions. Ohga Pharmacy expects to attract three times as many customers despite only using the same amount of shop space. Plans are in the works to open 10 shops over the next two years.
