Businesses along Meiji-dori Ave. in Tenjin 1 chome and 2 chome, have formed a group \u201cTenjin Meji-dori Ave. Development Council\u201d which plans to apply to Fukuoka City government for permission to begin large scale renovations to increase floor space for their offices and businesses. The group is pushing to make the district the largest office and business area in the city. This move has come as the leading local developer Fukuoka Jisho announced plans to redevelop the Tenjin 1 chome south area also into a huge business center.
