Construction of a temporary 2-storey building begins in January 2013, in a 2,200m2 parking lot along Chikushi-dori. This temporary location will be completed in Sep. 2013, and the post office will relocate there for the duration of the rebuilding process. It is expected that the temporary building project will be torn down in Jun. 2016, when the new Hakata Post Office will be unveiled.
