The new design is featured on the airline’s Bombardier DHC 8-103– a Canadian propeller aircraft that seats 39 passengers. The main body of the passenger craft is painted as a mother dolphin, whilst the engines below the wings are painted as two baby dolphins. Inspiration from the design comes from Amakusa City’s reputation as a dolphin-watching site. The redesigned planes will be put into use by Feb. 2013, and before the launch, Amakusa Airlines is inviting applications to submit a nickname for the new aircraft (check the official website later this month).
