This is a very rare case amongst military bases in Japan which are generally closed to the public.  The move is seen as a step by the US military to foster good relations with the locals. Access is limited to the area of the naval base known as \u201cGalaxy\u201d which has a food court, nightclub and bars. Guests can enjoy reasonably priced beer, such as Budweiser for \u00a5220~($2.75)\/bottle, and food such as their popular pizza for \u00a5640~($8.00). Payment for food and drinks can be made in yen, however change will be given in US dollars. You must be over 18 years-old and Japanese citizen to enter (ID checked at the gate). It\u2019s a great chance to practice English conversation and enjoy an authentic American atmosphere. Open Saturday nights 20:00~02:00am.
