This is the first time for an America\u2019s Cup race to be held in Asia in its 165-year history. From Nov. 18 to 20, Fukuoka\u2019s Hakata Bay will host the ninth qualifying round. In anticipation of the event, SoftBank Team Japan\u2019s Dean Barker (team CEO and skipper) and Kazuhiko Sofuku (general manager) visited Mayor Soichiro Takashima at Fukuoka City Hall on Sep. 5, and presented him with a gift. Qualifying rounds for the America&#8217;s Cup have been in progress since July 2015.
