Giant dance clubs may be great if you are looking to get lost in a sea of anonymous faces while bass music brutalizes your eardrums. To some people this sounds like a great time, other people would rather repeatedly whack their thumb with a hammer than set foot in a place like that. If you fall into the latter category, Lab Z might be the spot for you. This funky disco club has been around for 26 years, I’ve done the math for you and that’s 1993-an era that was just about kissing cousins to the actual disco age so rest assured that this club isn’t a passing fad. It’s a smaller venue but it’s packed with soul. This funky 70’s inspired hideout is where your cool uncle would sneak off to after slipping you a beer at the family reunion. The checkerboard dance floor is bathed in the twinkling light of the disco ball overhead as funk, soul, disco and R&B tracks get your booty shaking. It’s an older, more mature crowd here than the average dance club so you don’t need to worry about suffering the indignation of having a drunk girl shrilling shrieking, “Woooooooo!” directly in your ear, ruining your night and putting you in a sour mood for good part of the rest of the week. Rather, you will actually be able to have a conversation in this club with the other interesting attendees like a civilized human being. This is a place to unwind, enjoy a drink and hit the dance floor if you so choose to do so. There isn’t the manic energy of needing to mate by the nights end here. This is a place where adults come to be adults.<\/p>\n

Lab Z sells a few bar snacks but you are allowed to order in from the surrounding restaurants such as 2 Dogs and Tommy’s Kitchen. And they do have table service, so it’s a very good place to sit and relax after a long week. Around 10 DJ’s frequent this club as well as some VJs as well. They also have theme nights such as Michael Jackson night or the upcoming 26th-anniversary party on September 13, 14 and 15. So make sure to check out their IG (club_lab_z_remix) so you can be in the loop on any of the fun events they put on. Entrance fees are \u00a51,000 and a drink for men and women on Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday. On Friday and Saturday, the fee is \u00a51,500 and two drinks for women and \u00a52,500 and two drinks for men.<\/p>\n
