Don\u2019t suffer alone.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What is DV?<\/strong><br \/>\nDV is a pattern of abusive or violent behavior from a partner in an intimate relationship. All forms of domestic violence are against the law in Japan and a violation of basic human rights.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Forms of DV<\/strong><br \/>\nDV can take many forms, effecting both the mind and body. For example:<br \/>\n&#8211; Physical abuse (hitting, kicking, throwing objects etc.)<br \/>\n&#8211; Emotional abuse (restricting friendships and communication, monitoring mobile phones, emails, letters etc.)<br \/>\n&#8211; Sexual abuse (forced intercourse, not cooperating in contraception, etc.)<br \/>\n&#8211; Economic deprivation (restricting living expenses, prohibiting employment, etc.)<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/\/e.issuu.com\/embed.html#3209099\/5276451\" height=\"455\" width=\"640\" allowfullscreen=\"\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong>Seek Help<\/strong><br \/>\nIn Japan, there are laws and systems in place to protect those suffering from DV. Regardless of nationality, victims in Japan are urged to seek support. Foreigners suffering from DV should not suffer alone, the following departments are here to help. Come in and talk &#8211; the details of your meeting are kept confidential and consultation is free.<\/p>\n<p>Fukuoka Prefecture Offices for Health, Human Services and Environmental Issues (*\u798f\u5ca1\u770c\u4fdd\u5065\u798f\u7949\u74b0\u5883\u4e8b\u52d9\u6240) can also be consulted regarding DV.
