Food producers from across Kyushu sell fresh produce at this farmers’ market in front of JR Hakata Station. One of the feature produce at this month’s market is shoga (Japanese ginger, 17 booths), an all-purpose ingredient in both Japanese and Western cuisine. The other is nashi (Japanese pear, 12 booths), known for its crunchiness. Enjoy pear smoothies from Oita, pear curry from Itoshima, pear cupcakes, homemade ginger ale, ginger sausages, ginger soup and more! Tuna carving demonstration on Sep. 23 (15:00) too.
