The Hakata Machiya Folk Museum is located near Kushida Shrine. The facility gives visitors an idea of what life looked like in Hakata during the Meiji and Taisho eras. They also offer a kimono rental service, so that you can take a stroll through the local area while wearing traditional Japanese clothing. Staff will even help you get changed into the outfit! Be sure to make the most of the free guides as you explore some of the local shrines, including Kushida Shrine, Ryuguji Temple, and Tochoji Temple (Japanese only).
