Kougei Expo

Kougei Expo is an annual nationwide exhibition of internationally acclaimed traditional Japanese crafts. It returns to Fukuoka for the first time in 30 years. The three-day event will feature seven crafts from Fukuoka Prefecture: Hakata-ori (textile), Hakata ningyo (doll), Kurume kasuri (fabric), Koishiwarayaki (ceramic), Yame Fukushima butsudan (Buddhist altar), Aganoyaki (ceramic), and Yame chochin (paper lantern). Learn about other traditional crafts from all over Japan too, as well as the splendid technique of craftsmen and the beauty of traditional Japanese culture. Purchase items that catch your eye! Food and drink from ten popular restaurants and sake breweries in Fukuoka Prefecture will also be on offer.

Highlights
