This upcoming festival celebrates Kurume kasuri, one of Japan’s premier textiles. The event will see manufacturers and wholesalers set up 26 stores offering visitors the chance to purchase a wide collection of Kurume kasuri products, including clothes, accessories, as well as pieces of fabric. Fans of the fashionable and widely admired textile will also be able to compare the various forms of Kurume kasuri. Organizers have put together a fashion show and hands-on workshops where guests can try making their own items. English, Chinese and Korean interpreters will be on hand to ensure that even people unfamiliar with the production process can get involved.
