The following outlines the four artists and their work.
Chloe Jane Hambleton (Australia): “air”
Exhibition style: Contemporary Dance / Multimedia
An Australian contemporary dance artist, Chloe uses the inspiration of emotions, people and places to create unique movement. Giving meaning and intention to each position (performative movement) as Moving Language, she intends to present a contemporary dance film capturing narrative elements reflected by living this place, Itoshima, using those positions.
Jordana Infeld (Australia): “Layers 重なり”
Exhibition style: Weaving
Working on multidisciplinary art, spanning over art, design and writing, Jordana from Melbourne is interested in the material connections between text and textile, exploring a relationship between materiality and time. She shows experimental weaving pieces with transparent weaving and double cloth, exploring consciously or unconsciously how time can become tactile (and visible) through weaving.
Juho Kastemaa (Finland): “World in Fusion” *exhibits on 2/24 only
Exhibition style: Digital 360 installation
Juho Kastemaa is a technologist and media artist from Finland, developing and working on mixed reality on the computer. In this exhibition, he will invite visitors to experience a world of fusion inspired from new perspectives and Japan’s rural nature as a digital 360 installation using Virtual Reality (VR).
Philippe Internoscia: (Canada): “Message board 伝言ボード”
Exhibition style: Mixed media
Philippe is a multidisciplinary artist from Montréal, Quebec, Canada. “Message board” is a place to post messages for others to see when they pass by. The messages here can be identified with words or with what the used material suggests. Having expertise in sewing, 3D modeling, CNC and graphic design, he challenges himself to create an installation using some of these techniques exploring the possibilities of materiality.
