Founded in Manchester in 1982 in the midst of the post-punk era, the Smiths are considered one of the U.K.’s most important bands right up there with the Beatles. They only released four studio albums before disbanding, but their impact on fans and other bands around the world has been massive, and it continues to be felt as a new generation discovers their music. The Smiths Night is a celebration of this music—Marr’s beautifully intricate melody lines and Morrissey’s poppy yet biting lyrics. Featuring a talk session about The Smiths and music by DJs Yu Shiiba, Goro Nagase, Joel, Sinful and more. If you’re a fan of the Smiths, you won’t want to miss this event. Be there!
