As the host of Love FM’s Portuguese language radio show, (Wed. 06:30 ~ 07:00, 76.1 FM MHz), Wilson’s voice is probably more familiar than his face. However, his frequent appearances at Brazilian events and parties in Fukuoka are changing that. Three years ago Wilson assumed the role of president of the Fukuoka Brazilian Club. The club holds events once every two months and its members include both Brazilians and fans of Brazilian culture. This month marks the 100th anniversary of the departure of the first ships carrying Japanese immigrants to Brazil, so we can expect more than the usual number of Brazil-related events. 明るく陽気な人柄で多くの人を惹き付ける日系ブラジル人のウィルソンは、声だけでも知られる人気者だ。Love FMで毎週水曜日の朝６:３０から始まるポルトガル語の番組「Daily Tips」のＤＪで、福岡で開催されるブラジル関連のイベントやパーティーでも在住ブラジル人を代表する『顔』でもある彼は、「福岡ブラジルクラブ」の会長も務めている。同クラブでは２カ月に１度イベントを主催しており、ブラジル人の他にも、その熱い文化に惹かれた人たちが多数参加している。今年は日本人がブラジルへ移民として渡ってから１００周年を迎える記念すべき年なので５月３日・４日の博多どんたくにも参加予定だとか。興味がある方はウィルソンにメールを送ってね。
