But Silentrips isn’t just your average silent disco; besides drawing in top artist, DJ AKAKAGE to headline, the evening will also feature VJ Toshi, of Happy Film, spinning a mixture of music and psychedelic art. Last but most definitely not least, award winning digital artist Murakami Hiroshinante - who has designed animations for MTV and the Softbank Hawks - will be showcasing some of his new works. If you need a break from the dancefloor, there’ll be lots of fun and pampering going on elsewhere: a magic show, a photo booth, a manicure corner, and a hair & make-up studio for those last minute touch-ups. For those of a more arty nature, there’ll be a photography exhibit and the latest in projection mapping (projecting images and videos onto objects). And you can enjoy all of this with cocktails, craft beers and sweet treats in hand. The plan is for this to be the first in a series of silent discos, occurring once every three months. But if you want to be one of those to inaugurate Silentrips, you had better reserve tickets online: there’s a maximum capacity of 300 people for this event.
