Fukuoka City Strengthens Working Relationship With Line

Fukuoka City has further strengthened their working relationship with messaging application Line. A partnership agreement has been concluded that will see new AI technology utilized to provide information about tourist attractions, such as yatai (food stalls), that is suited to the needs of each user. The partnership also includes efforts to create a more convenient garbage collection system, improve local services, and to collaborate on developing IT courses aimed at elementary and junior high school students. During a ceremony held to celebrate the signing of the agreement, Fukuoka City Mayor Soichiro Takashima expressed his desire to make daily life more convenient for residents. Line President Takeshi Izawa also stated that the company hopes to make life easier for people and share the charms of the local area. Source: Sankei West, 8/23/2018
